There’s a saying that "confession is good for the soul". Certainly this is a central dimension of Christianity. But confession is not always easy. Ricardo Pacheco was a manager of a bank vault who over the years had stolen over $650,000 from the vault he was overseeing. When he retired he decided he needed to clear his conscience. He finished work then went to the US Attorney’s office to confess, but everyone was too busy to see him. In fact he had to wait a week before he could get an appointment!
Not so with God. God is available to us the moment we turn to him in prayer. And unlike Ricardo, our confession won’t lead to prosecution. It will lead to forgiveness!
